First of all, I have to apologise to those of you who have played the Demo between June and November 2023. In early November, I made some major changes in how the Demo's back-end works and in-particular how the Save Files work.
As a result of this, the save-game files are now saved within a different folder on your PC. The old location would be:

C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\UltimateSpeedRunDemo\Saved\SaveGames
(USERNAME being your PC username)

Here, you fill find files such as 'Save1.sav' 'Save2.sav' etc (you may only have one) and a 'SavePrefs.sav' file.



The new location is:

'C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\UltimateSpeedRun\Saved\SaveGames\0000000000000'
(USERNAME being your PC username and the '0000000's being your Steam ID).



I've had to make this change in order to ensure that save-game files from the Demo will carry over to the full game upon release.

If you want to transfer your save files from the old system to the new, you will need to do the following. Keep in mind, this is optional.

Run the updated version of the Demo just so it creates the new files system. Then, if you have more than one save file (eg. Save2.sav etc) and you want to keep them all, then you would need to create these saves in the game by going to

'Play > Manage Save Games > New Game'

… and create however many you need. Then exit the game.



You can then transfer the 'Save1.sav etc' files from the old folder to the new folder, overriding the files that were just created by running the game. The 'SavePrefs.sav' file should be deleted and/or NOT transferred.

The game should now work with your older save files. Although your Collections may be reset. If this is so, and you want to collect the special pickups, you will have to replay levels 3, 6, and 10 again.

You can also now delete the UltimateSpeedRunDemo folder if you so wish.

Once again, I'm so sorry about this. If you don't care about your old saves, of course you can not bother with any of the above and just play the game afresh.
