Development Update #3

Hello, soldiers!

It's Zwirko here—and I've been asked to write this month's update. My job at Kumiho Soft is to be a technical leader and solution architect. I'm also a big fan of coffee, and think there's nothing more beautiful in the entire world!

My main tasks are writing the core and tools of our game engine. Although it was developed for War of Ashird, we plan to use it in future projects, too! During the three-year development process, I specifically created systems for the game's story scenes and battles.

An important element for our team was that the fights were interesting—and that the game itself wasn't monotonous. For that reason, we created a lot of custom skills and spells, and still hope to provide even more in the final version!

I choose Unity, which was then adapted to our development needs. The most difficult thing was to create data flow between fighting and story modules. And since we're already talking about data flow: War of Ashird uses an autosave system, so that you can load back to previous checkpoints.

Another important task was backup. Since our team is made up of people scattered around the world, we needed to ensure each member has the most recent version of the project. Putting the repository together took me 20 hours, total.

If you're ever eager to chat about the game, please join our Discord! I'm always happy to provide further information on our project and its progress—but please remember: some things are confidential. Discord

Speaking of progress… As noted on the campaign page, some things may not reflect the final product. After discussing it with our team, Jaques is no longer "The Titan"—but "The Joker." Although calling him a titan was in reference to his strength, we felt "The Joker" fit his character arc and personality better.

We would also like to share some of our modeling progress with you today, too! Below, you can see a few of Snow's poses!

As always, thank you all for your support! Our October update will be presented by our 3D world creator, Po4cupin3—so expect plenty of interesting details about that!
