Progress Update 4

[p]Hey, everyone! It's Ryan, creator of Wicked Seed.[/p][p][/p][p]After a stressful June, July was a lot more laid back and I had a great time adding in new content and polishing existing stuff.[/p][p][/p]
Spoiler Warning
[p]I'll be discussing new features and additions to the game, but nothing story related.[/p][p]Please remember Wicked Seed is still in active development and any current or planned feature could be changed.[/p][p][/p][p]A lot of the polish and adjustments are best seen, rather than read, so I have a short companion video this time that will better cover most of the changes.[/p][p][/p][p]I've received a lot of feedback on adding cloth physics to the costumes, and while some of them are still not quite perfect, somewhere around 28 of the 47ish costumes feature some form of cloth physics. It was a lot of work, but I think it was worth the effort.[/p][p][/p][p]In addition to what is shown in the video, here are some other things I've been working on in July:[/p]
  • [p]Just about every static costume image got an improvement (here are some example changes)[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Finished new boss encounter complete with unique battle mechanics[/p]
  • [p]Started on the next area. Map and lighting is complete and currently working on adding new enemies[/p]
  • [p]Improved where Ella will aim at the enemy relative to her position (if attacking the side flank, she'll aim at its side, rather than always aiming at the head/front)[/p]
  • [p]Added in a bunch of new weapon and armor parts[/p]
  • [p]Added in a bunch of new challenges[/p]
  • [p]Added in new challenge shop items[/p]
  • [p]New skills[/p]
    • [p]Throwing Knives (shown in video): Deals high attack damage with a huge bonus to staggered enemies[/p]
    • [p]Focus (shown in video): All subsequent attacks in the attack chain are guaranteed critical hits[/p]
    • [p]Improvised Incendiary: Throws an explosive that deals damage and leaves behind a patch of fire, damaging enemies that step or stay inside[/p]
    • [p]Vengeance: Ignores the next instance of damage and returns damage to the attacker (if it was a melee attack). Damage scales with brutal attack damage[/p]
    • [p]Improvised Flash: Similar to flash grenade, just weaker[/p]
    [p][/p][p]That about does it for July! Next month I'm going to focus on completing the new area I'm working on and after that's done, I'll be working on a new story segment that builds up to the finale of Act 2.[/p][p][/p][p]And as always, let's end with a look at a new costume: Polka Dot[/p][p][/p][p]Last thing, let me know if you have an opinion one way or the other if it's helpful having a video showing the changes. It might not always be possible if there aren't many changes that warrant a video, but I'm happy to put one together if it's helpful.[/p]
