Good Day Riders!
Patch 0.7.2 has been released and fixes a number of bugs, introduces a new save system, interacting with the horse merchant no longer cause to game crash, and includes many other bug fixes that provide a smoother gaming experience.
New Save System
We've implemented a new save system, which you can see in the video below - it allows you to save manually at various points on the map by shooting (or walking past) the gong!
Thanks again to everyone who sent us bug and crash reports, as well as general feedback! We’ve read everything, and thanks to your, we’ve been able to identify and fix numerous issues!
We'll be continuing to bug fix and polish the game for the time being, but we'll be talking more about our plans for Early Access in the near future!
Full Patch Notes:
Gameplay:
- Implemented visual, interactive save checkpoints that show when auto-saving happens and can also be shot to save manually. Gooooonnngg. Discovered checkpoints are now also shown on the map.
- Resting now also triggers an autosave.
- Achievements "Shrine of the Ancients" and "Money to Burn" now activate appropriately.
- Removed time based degradation of cargo except for items that are labeled as perishable.
- Update to breeding balancing, relating to bonuses and max attribute averages.
World & Environment:
- Interactive save checkpoints were placed all over the map.
- Environmental improvements to the northern and north-eastern side of the map, including for navigation and level design.
- Fixed that Ovoos cannot be cleared a second time.
- Fixed that Ovoos aren't applying fog in their area when resetting.
- Fixed several floating rocks and torches.
Mission & Progression:
- Fixed being unable to close the "Mission Complete" screen.
- Fixed being able to accept Cartographer missions multiple times.
Horses:
- Fixed horse merchant only offering starter horses. (Finally investing in new horses after taking our money, huh?)
- Fixed multiple horses spawning in stacks.
- Fixed horses spawning/strolling in water and swimming further in.
- Fixed being unable to mount the horse in some locations.
- Improved horse behavior on stone bridges.
- Fixed an issue where you were unable to give your horse a stamina item
- Fixed horses turning their head away from the camera in some preview scenes
UI & UX:
- Added map icon for discovered save checkpoints on the world map.
- Updated the icon for autosaving.
- Fixed that savegame slots show last-saved timestamp in wrong time zone.
- Fixed that savegame slots without an active mission were labeled as "new game".
- Fixed crafting screen displaying failed craft as if it succeeded.
- Reverted premature descriptions for new training triggers, a future update will introduce them properly.
Controls:
- Fixed active item collection HUD remaining stuck when rapidly pressing "E".
Visual & Art:
- Potential fix of horses appearing bright/glitched in previews.
- Fixed river textures at shores.
- We are 95% sure that the super glitchy horse previews are now fixed. If it still happens maybe do not tell us because it will make our Lead Technical Artist cry. (Still tell us though please)
- Performance:
- Globally disabled the GPU Ribbon feature on AMD hardware to fix performance issues during rain storms.
- Updated PSO Shader Cache Bundle with new shaders to prevent PSO hitches
Stability & Fixes: Fixed multiple crashes related to:
- Horse Care interactions.
- Backpack to inventory item movement.
- Buying (starter) horses from merchant.
- Changing maps.
- Potential fix for the foal reveal freeze issue.
