Hotfixes: February 28, 2025

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to World of Warcraft: The War Within, Cataclysm Classic, Season of Discovery, WoW Classic Era, and Hardcore. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require scheduled realm restarts to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. This list will be updated as additional hotfixes are applied.

Hotfixes

February 28, 2025

Achievements

  • An achievement has been unexpectedly rewarding 5 Trader's Tender. The goblins insist that possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law. It seems better to just roll with it, so we've corrected the description on the achievement to include the 5 Trader's Tender.

    • Restoration
      • Fixed an issue that caused Ancient of Lore (PvP Talent) to prevent all magical effects.
      • Fixed an issue that caused Cyclone to bypass Ancient of Lore's crowd control immunity.
  • Evoker
    • Devastation
      • [Scalecommander] Fixed an issue where Deep Breath with Maneuverability would not break root effects.
    • Preservation
      • Fixed an issue where Flow State did not reduce the cooldown of Engulf.
  • Hunter
    • Beast Master, Survival
      • Master's Call pet ability can now be cast from Pet action bar.
  • Monk
    • Windwalker
      • Fixed an issue that caused Slicing Winds to not be treated as an AoE effects.
      • Fixed an issue that caused Slicings Winds to not function with Ride the Wind.
  • Priest
    • Shadow
      • Fixed an issue causing Void Bolt to be castable while channeling spells.
  • Shaman
    • Enhancement
      • [Totemic] Whirling Elements now displays correct duration that is 6 seconds for the granted Hot Hand buff.
      • [Totemic] Hot Hand procs will no longer clamp down the duration if Whirling Elements was used to extend Hot Hand duration.
    • Restoration
      • Fixed an issue causing Overflowing Shores to not heal when on a transport.
      • [Totemic] Fixed an issue where casting Totemic Projection while Surging Totem is active causes an additional heal from the totem.
  • Warlock
    • Fixed an issue where the targeted version of Rain of Fire would not generate stacks of Power Overwhelming.

Items

  • Algari Mana Oil, Oil of Deep Toxins, and Oil of Beledar's Grace are now manually targeted, preventing them from automatically overriding buffs for player-characters who are dual-wielding.
  • Auralia Steelstrike again sells Technique: Contract: Hallowfall Arathi.
  • Roaring War-Queen's Citrine chance to trigger has been reduced slightly.
  • Legendary Skipper's Citrine no longer triggers Roaring War-Queen's Citrine effect.

Player versus Player

  • Mage
    • Arcane
      • Fixed an issue causing Overpowered Barrier to grant immunity to interrupts.

Transmogrification

  • Fixed an issue that caused Forged Gladiator's Chain Leggings and Forged Gladiator's Chain Breeches for shamans to use the wrong non-kilt appearance.

Undermine

  • Adjusted the rewards for completing Shipping and Handling tasks to reward a Weathered Undermine Crest and one of Valorstones, Resonance Crystals, or Gold.
  • Increased the rewards from finishing a job streak.
  • Increased the rewards given by tip chests during the Surge Pricing event.

Season of Discovery

  • Rogue
    • Blade Flurry no longer receives double % increases.
      • Developers’ notes: This affects Seal of the Dawn and Rogue set bonuses. Now, % increases from hostile Mind Controls like Chains of Kel'thuzad or Prophet Skeram's Mind Control no longer cause massive amounts of damage from Blade Flurry.
  • Warrior
    • Sweeping Strikes no longer receives double % increases while inside of Naxxramas.
      • Developers’ notes: Due to Warriors having multiple % increases in their kit through Enrage, we did not want to impact their PvP performance with this bugfix, so this only applies to Warriors while inside Naxxramas. This means Seal of the Dawn and Warrior set bonuses are no longer doubled, and % increases from hostile Mind Controls inside of Naxxramas like Chains of Kel'thuzad no longer cause massive amounts of damage from Sweeping Strikes.

  • Umbrage for Umbriss is no longer a requirement for Glory of the Cataclysm Hero.

Classes

  • Death Knight
    • On a Paler Horse now works as intended in the Undermine.
  • Evoker
    • Devastation
      • Fixed an issue where Disintegrate's channel time was being increased when talenting into Azure Celerity.
  • Hunter
    • Corrected an issue preventing the proper activation of Eyes of the Beast.
  • Paladin
    • Resolved an issue causing Hammer of Light to not cast its secondary damage when killing the primary target.
    • Hammer of Light will now add to the duration of Shield of the Righteous, instead of incorrectly resetting its duration to 4 seconds.
  • Shaman
    • Elemental
      • [Stormbringer] Fixed an issue causing Tempest to be unable to contribute towards Fusion of Elements.

Player versus Player

  • Priest
    • Holy
      • Fixed an issue causing Sanctified Ground to not have its radius increased by the Light in the Darkness talent.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue causing the balloons to be difficult to target on "Boom Balloon."

Transmogrification

  • Fixed an issue preventing druids from receiving alternate appearances for the Raid Finder variant of the Nerub-ar Palace class set after using the Luminous Nerubian Catalyst Stone.

Undermine

  • Gallagio Security is no longer immune to crowd controlling effects.
  • Fixed an issue causing Gallagio Garbage to spawn less frequently than intended.
  • Disposable Hotdogs, Disposable Hamburgers, Collectible Pineappletini Mugs, Undermine Crates, Half-Eaten Takout, and Single-Use Grills now stack to 20.
  • S.C.R.A.P. Heaps now correctly scale enemies and hazards to the number of participating players nearby.
  • G-99 Breakneck boost cooldowns have been adjusted to match their durations.
  • GE86 Advance D.R.I.V.E. wheels now cost 2000 Empty Kaja’Cola Cans (was 1 Vintage Kaja'Cola Can).

Cataclysm Classic

  • Fixed a bug preventing Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw from dropping as intended.
  • Added a way for rogues who defeated Deathwing prior to the hotfix above to be able to get their missed drop. Near the entrance portal of Dragon Soul there is now an Elementium Fragment that will spawn when Deathwing has been defeated. This will allow rogues who meet the following conditions to retrieve the Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw:
    • The rogue is currently on the Patricide quest.
    • The rogue has killed Deathwing before.
    • Deathwing has been defeated in the instance.
  • Protocol Twilight Dungeons
    • Updated the Gift of the Green Dragonflight's stacking healing buff (Verdant Restoration) to now increase healing done by 20% per stack (was 10%).
    • Damage-over-time abilities can now generate stacks of Verdant Restoration but not remove stacks of the damage buff (Verdant Surge).

Season of Discovery

  • There should no longer be extra enemies near the objectives of The Dark Hoard quest in Blackrock Spire.
  • Hardened Frostguard now has an internal cooldown on the Frost Nova chance on hit, to prevent it from extensively reactivating on the same ability cast.
  • Naxxramas
    • Ignite will no longer incorrectly tick on targets while the player is under the effect of a Mind Control.
    • The health increases from Lifegiving Gem, Rallying Cry, Last Stand, Aegis of Preservation, Vengeance, and Survival Instincts no longer behave incorrectly while under the effects of the Seal of the Dawn.
    • While inside Naxxramas, the 6-piece bonuses for tank warrior, tank warlock, and tank druid will now dynamically update your Last Stand, Vengeance, and Survival Instincts if the new value would be lower and you do not have a debuff that lowers your health active.
  • Rogue
    • The tank T1 6-piece set bonus now provides a 20% damage reduction (was 50%).
    • The animation for Crimson Tempest has been changed to be less chaotic.

February 26, 2025

Achievements

  • Reading the Misplaced Work Order will now reliably give credit for Read Between the Lines.

Delves

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent players who had never entered Delves before from being able to configure Brann's role and abilities.

Items and Rewards

  • Fixed a bug preventing delves and world activities from providing credit towards the Great Vault. As a reminder, next week, the Great Vault will provide Season 1 rewards.
  • The Surge Pricing world event now awards Extravagant Tip Chest for 150 Shipping and Handling Tasks (was 250).
  • Fixed an issue where the Adventurer's Warbound items sold by Finley for Undercoin would generate gear at the wrong item level.

Quests

  • Players who selected a Cartel during "Contract Work" but were not given work to do can now reselect their Cartel for their Warband.
  • Grimla should no longer unintentionally disappear while players are on “The Grimla Express”, “Split Venture”, or “Welcome to Undermine”.

Undermine

  • The Suspicious Book and Fireworks Hat should no longer disappear prematurely, and players should be able to loot them as expected. Players who were previously affected by this bug will find the loot in their mail after about an hour.
  • Lowered the number of tasks required to be completed to earn the highest Surge Pricing reward to 150, down from 250.
  • Newspaper Bundles for the Paper Delivery job should no longer remain on the player if the job is canceled. This should also resolve the issue for players that have already completed or canceled the quest and had the bundles on their back.
