Dev Update: Skills, Ships, and Progression

[p]Hey Everyone![/p][p]It has already been 2 weeks since the game’s release. During this time, I have received a lot of reports, suggestions, and feedback about what should be improved or expanded to make the gameplay even more enjoyable and satisfying.[/p][p]Thank you very much for all the feedback – it largely defines the future direction of the game’s development.[/p][p]
The most annoying and frequently reported issues have already been fixed in the last three patches.
They improved gameplay comfort and also added several really cool features.[/p][p][/p][p]Now I would like to give you an overview of some of the changes I plan to introduce in the near future.[/p][p][/p]

Changes to the ship skill system

[p]I plan to completely replace the current skill system with a new, more advanced and clearer solution.
In the new system, each ship will gain levels and experience, allowing for individual development and specialization.[/p]

Ships will gain experience for the following actions:
  • [p]Flying – the lowest experience gain, mainly for transport ships piloted by survivors[/p]
  • [p]Mining ore and collecting scrap[/p]
  • [p]Destroying enemy units[/p]
[p]Along with the new system, the list of skills, their behavior, and granted bonuses will also change.
The currently planned list of ship skills (subject to change):[/p]
  • [p]Mining[/p]
  • [p]Scrapping[/p]
  • [p]Cargo Capacity[/p]
  • [p]Accuracy[/p]
  • [p]Maneuverability[/p]
  • [p]Damage[/p]
  • [p]Armor[/p]
[p]Additionally, during gameplay it will be possible to acquire several special skills that will further distinguish specific units.[/p][p][/p]
Player passive skills
[p]The player will be able to develop 4 passive skills:[/p]
  • [p]Mining[/p]
  • [p]Scrapping[/p]
  • [p]Repairing[/p]
  • [p]Cargo Capacity[/p]
[p][/p]

Survivor professions and levels

[p]Survivors will receive levels defined by color, which will immediately indicate their potential and role:[/p]
  • [p]White – a default survivor, mainly intended for base structure development or as basic ship crew, without additional bonuses[/p]
  • [p]Green, Blue, Purple, Orange – survivors with assigned professions and special bonuses[/p]
[p]Planned professions:[/p]
  • [p]Pilot – bonuses to maneuverability and speed[/p]
  • [p]Gunner – increased accuracy and damage[/p]
  • [p]Engineer – better repairs and more efficient resource extraction[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]

Ship tiers

[p]While exploring space, it will be possible to discover blueprints of higher-tier ships.
Tiers will be marked with colors, similar to survivors, making it easier to quickly identify their quality.[/p][p]Higher-tier ships:[/p]
  • [p]will have better base statistics,[/p]
  • [p]will receive additional module slots,[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]

Ship upgrade modules

[p]A module system is planned to be added, allowing modules to be installed on ships.
These modules will allow, among other things:[/p]
  • [p]increasing damage or armor,[/p]
  • [p]improving maneuverability and speed,[/p]
  • [p]increasing cargo capacity or mining efficiency,[/p]
  • [p]adapting a ship to a specific role (combat, transport, mining).[/p]
[p][/p][p]This is, of course, not everything, but these are some of the key changes I am currently working on.
As always – your opinions and suggestions are welcome and have a real impact on the further development of the game.[/p][p]
Thanks for the support and see you in space![/p]
