Today we're releasing an interesting update that overhauls the whole campaign upgrade system (for the second time!), replacing money and individual item upgrades with a global skill tree and a new way to unlock its contents!
Please note that while the skill system should work, it may require some further balance in regards to each skill power and how quickly it scales compared with mission threat difficulty. Please let us know of your impressions in the forum or the official Discord server!We're also adding a new enemy, the Summoner, and a new Boss, Khorhoi, so there's plenty of new things to try out!
New features:- Replaced Money in the campaign with Insight, which is earned by unlocking new mastery levels in characters and equipment.
- Money can only be used while in a run now.
- Added a skill tree that uses Insight to unlock new skills. The older Laboratory section is moved to a new Armory section.
- Replaced loadout rewards from money bonus to mastery bonus (so it's easier to gain Insight).
- New Guardian: Khorhoi
- New enemy: Summoner
- Added achievements.
- Added a new boss song for main campaign quests.
- Added Japanese language.
Gameplay changes:- Increased item mastery level cap to 11, like with characters.
- Notably Increased shop prices (since now you won't need the money once the run finishes).
- Increased a bit difficulty of quests with a higher threat level.
Improvements:- Slimmed down a bit the game font, should be a bit more readable and overall it looks a bit better.
Bugfixes:- Fixed Master Volume setting not working properly.
- Fixed Sirius' special skill being unlocked by default.
- Fixed weapon animation issue when starting the level until the first shot.
- A bunch of minor undocumented bugfixes here and there.
